'Second Phase' refers to a historic period of Navajo weavings in the mid 1800s in which 'Chiefs Blankets' or wearing blankets, which started as simple two or three colour stripes were now getting intersected with additional colours in rectangular forms in the ground which punctuated the pattern in a more vivid style than the simpler, earlier phase.
